Tour Garden: LARRY GOODEN & PAT KIESEL
The Gooden garden was created as an alternative garden to Lindy Farms in Anna, Illinois, which was on tour at the 2004 National. The close proximity of the Lake House to St. Louis made it more desirable than the long distance to the farm. Then "Larry's Obsession" took hold and a Collector's Garden was created.
Daylily after daylily found their way to the new garden and the hillside is now blooming with a few thousand (including Larry's namesake). The garden sits on a hillside and is comprised of several areas - sun, shade, and in-between. Be prepared to enjoy the "through the woods" garden of the Great St. Louis Daylily Society 2010 Regional.
